My paternal grandfather died this morning. He had been struggling with Alzheimer's disease for the past four years. His kidneys were failing, and it got to a point where further dialysis would have prolonged his suffering. He was put in hospice yesterday, where a Catholic priest gave him his last rites. He died one day short of 82 years old.
